  • How is my donation put to work?

When you give unrestricted support, we can focus on our transformative work. This includes grants to our flagship Learning & Leadership Center in Zambia, building capacity and technical assistance to community leaders, and awarding college scholarships to promising young African leaders.

  • Why become a monthly donor?

Monthly donors give the African Education Program confidence and stability throughout the year. You’ll never have to remember to make a donation. And we can more easily plan our work and are protected from unforeseen challenges like a pandemic.

  • Do you accept matching donations?

The African Education Program welcomes companies that match employee donations. We participate in many corporate matching gift programs including Benevity, GlobalGiving, and YourCause. Please email us if your company would like to support AEP today.

  • Please make check payable to African Education Program and mail to:

Final distribution of funds remaining in a DAF is governed by the contract you completed when you created your fund. Please consider naming the African Education Program as a successor of your DAF. Or, you can name us as the successor for a portion of the account value. As with all gift planning, please consult with your tax advisor and lawyer to determine what planned gift strategy is best for your current tax situation and income requirements.

Never forget a donation with automatic monthly giving.

  • Did you know that if you are 70½ or older, you can give an organization like the African Education Program a donation from your IRA without any income tax implications?

When you take funds from your IRA, they count as taxable income. But making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows a transfer of up to $100,000 per individual or $200,000 per couple to satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

When you support the African Education Program with a gift from your IRA, you can make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of the girls and boys that we serve. Your IRA custodian can help you make this happen today.

  • BEQUESTS

Leaving a legacy gift is a great way to honor your lifetime values and make a difference in the lives of our girls and boys. When you write your will, you can make a bequest by including the African Education Program as a beneficiary.

Consider this sample language to leave a gift for the African Education Program:

“After taking care of all expenses, debts, and other provisions, I give, devise and bequeath _% of the rest and residue [or $___ if a specific amount] to the African Education Program, a PA-based 501(c)(3) [EIN 42-1585011], located at 19 Donna Lane, Wayne, PA 19087.”

If you wish to make changes to your will to include the African Education Program, you can amend it by using a Codicil. A codicil is a document your attorney can prepare to amend your will or trust without rewriting the entire document.
